“Blue bird” is drawn from a series depicting images of birds. These are then reinvented and appropriated. This particular bird is based on the “cassowary” series. Colours are strong and imagined, built up on heavy Arches Aquarella 356 gsm paper, using mostly Derwent coloured pencils and graphite.
